how was your chinese new year?
on chinese new year eve, i went to Coca to have reunion dinner with my family. then we went to clarke quay. we actually wanted to go to IndoChine, but my auntie complained that there was no live band or anything in there, so we ended up eating ice cream and drinking alcohol at the quayside. (which made us look very loserish.)
on the first day of chinese new year, i went to my aunt's house. we stayed there for quite a while, liting and i were playing goldfish when is was time for us to go to my father's uncle house. the others moved on to my gramp's house. the visit to my father's uncle's house was not as fun, because we were not close to them. my sister and i were just sitting on the sofa, entertaining ourselves.
the most fun part of the day was at night! my family and my relatives went to watch i not stupid too. we had such a marvellous time! it was a great movie, but had several sad parts. my 10 year old cousin, who was sitting beside me, sniffed and gulped the last part through. i didn't even drop a single tear! that's because i'm cool.
the second day of new year, we had a gathering at my other aunt's house. my cousin (who is studying in aussie and came back for a while) told us stories from her school and imitated her funny hongky's friends' accents. it was really really funny. we had so much fun with her. ( by the way, i am so so so so extremely sorry for not sending her off at the airport on tuesday. i couldn't make it on time. curses!) the others played mahjong, then decided to have a mahjong sleepover! initially, i didn't know how to play, but after the sleepover, my knowledge on mahjong expanded! yay.
today, we had a gathering at our house. i played mahjong for a while, and won 20 cents! beginner's luck. i then moved on to blackjack. it was so fun, because i kept winning. i won about 30 dollars!!! it's a lot for me. i was a happy yaya at that time, busy counting my winnings. 30 DOLLARS! ha! the next gathering is at my aunt's house. (:
